Job Description

BARISTA LEAD

  • Average total compensation $28-30/hr At Pearson's, we believe a great cup of coffee is an act of hospitality.
We take our craft seriously — from the quality of our sourcing to the care behind every pour — and we're looking for a Barista Lead who shares that conviction. This is a role for someone who leads from the bar, elevates the team around them, and finds genuine satisfaction in doing the small things exceptionally well.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Set and uphold bar standards: dialing in espresso, maintaining consistency across the menu, and coaching the team to do the same Lead by example during service — working alongside other leads and the team Train new baristas, sharing technique with patience and clarity Identify quality gaps and bring solutions forward; you're a steward of the guest experience Maintain equipment cleanliness, organization, and basic troubleshooting protocols Communicate proactively with management about inventory needs, team dynamics, and guest feedback Contribute to a culture of warmth, curiosity, and continuous improvement
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
2+ years of specialty coffee experience; you're comfortable talking about extraction, ratios, and milk texture Latte art proficiency and genuine investment in espresso craft Experience in a lead, trainer, or supervisory role — formal title not required, but you've been the person others turn to A calm, consistent presence during busy service Strong communicator: clear with your team, gracious with guests A team-first mentality and a low-ego approach to leadership
