Working hours:
10:30am-4:30pm or 6:45am-4:30pm; 3-5 shifts a week. Weekend work required. Must be 18+. Job responsibilities include... Greet & interact with customers with a smile, eye contact, & friendly disposition.- Build relationships with customers through friendly conversation, while simultaneously working.
- Receive & process customer payments.
- Understand how to make correct cash/coin change.
- Correctly & thoroughly record customer orders including taking name & for here/to go.
- Review customer orders for accuracy with customer before completing transaction.
- Convey unique alterations to customer orders to those doing preparation.
- Weigh, grind, brew, & maintain freshness of coffee.
- Complete cleaning tasks on schedule which includes working with bleach & sanitary spray.
- Prepare food items & non-espresso drinks according to recipes, food safety standards, & quality judgement.
- Multitask; manage multiple tasks at the same time (ex: brew coffee, toast bagel, & take an order at same time).
- Understand how to adjust ratios for drinks when splitting flavors, adding extra flavor, or lite flavor.
- Complete shift responsibilities before leaving shift including +prep, +extra cleaning, +wrapping.
- Stock retail shelves, rotating items.
- Bag (weigh & label), stock, & rotate coffee beans.
- Maintain clean dining area, wipe tables & sweep.
- Wash, sanitize, & put away dishes.
- Take out garbage.
- Maintain clean working area by keeping counters & equipment wiped down, floor swept, & products stocked.
- Serve food to customers & clear tables.
- Describe menu items to customers & suggest items that might appeal to them.
- Wrap gift baskets.
- Check for accuracy, put away orders in a timely manner as they arrive at the shop, & rotate all products.
- Prep, weigh, & stock food needed for the day, ensuring you have all you will need for the entire day.
- Use knives safely to prep food, which includes chicken breasts, tunafish, nuts, sauces.
- Carefully wrap & store baked goods, maintaining quality appearance.
- Complete & initial all tasks on closing board and cleaning sheets.
- Complete extra tasks, as requested by owner, team leader, or shift leader.
- Ensure drawer has been counted before leaving shift.
- Check with shift leader working if anything else needs to be done before leaving your shift.
- Accurately manage your time so you take the appropriate breaks & abide by all labor laws/sips labor guidelines.
- Thoroughly communicate with others on shift & at shift change.
- Lift up to 25 pound boxes to put away orders.
- Use a ladder, when necessary to dust shelves, put away items.
- Stand/walk on your feet for the entire duration of your shift.
