Barista

Barista Heritage Coffee is an independent, multi-roaster coffee shop in Solon, Ohio. We're a team who has worked at cafes big and small, both local and national, and we're bringing everything we've learned to bear in this community-focused neighborhood cafe. Being a warm and welcoming environment for both local Solon professionals and our neighbors is paramount to us. We're willing to teach coffee, but we are looking for a candidate who already knows how to make every customer feel like our most important customer. Five years in we're finding that we still see new faces almost every day, and that trend will likely continue as we grow, so providing each guest with an experience that will make them want to return is crucial.

Duties:

• Warmly greet every guest and guide them to a selection they'll love.
• Prepare and serve a variety of hot and cold beverages, including coffee, tea, and specialty drinks
• Operate espresso machines, grinders, and other equipment to make high-quality coffee beverages
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the coffee bar area
• Stock and replenish supplies as needed
• Handle cash transactions and operate the cash register accurately
• Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines
• Assist with food preparation, such as assembling sandwiches, melts, and gourmet toasts
• Provide product recommendations and answer customer inquiries

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in cafes is preferred, but not required
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate warmly and effectively
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
• Ability to handle food safely and follow proper food handling procedures We are a small team and acknowledge that brings challenges, but we maintain a workplace free of a lot of the kind of drama we've seen in previous food service gigs.
