The play area consists of a pretend town for imaginative play, interactive STEM exhibits, a Cedarworks play structure, and an arts and crafts room for our little ones to fully explore their entertainment and education needs. Our cafe will feature Backporch's specialty coffee drinks, healthy onsite prepared food, as well as, baked goods and other offerings from Sparrow Bakery. Job Overview We are seeking a passionate and customer-oriented FOH/Barista and Playground operator to join our team. As a FOH/Barista, you will play a crucial role in creating an inviting atmosphere for our customers while preparing and serving high-quality coffee and food items and helping the playground operate safely. You will work on rotation with your team and be crossed trained in the playground and the food service area! Your ability to provide exceptional customer service and maintain a clean, organized workspace will be key to our success. You must love serving children and families! We are looking for weekday and weekend shift cover!

9am-1:30pm.

Saturday:

1:30-5:30pm

Sundays:

8:30am•5:30pm Opening and closing shift. This is our birthday event shifts. Tips are split between the team.

Monday:

7:30am•3:30pm

Tuesday:

7:30am•3:30pm

Friday:

1:30pm-5:30pm We serve Backporch Coffee. Barista experience is a MUST. We work with caregivers and kids. We are family-oriented and flexible. We also serve Sparrow Bakery good and snacks. Duties Prepare and serve a variety of coffee beverages, teas, and food items according to standard recipes. Operate POS systems and handle transactions accurately, ensuring proper cash management. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the coffee shop, including workstations, equipment, and dining areas. Provide excellent customer service by greeting customers warmly and assisting them with their orders. Demonstrate basic math skills to ensure accurate order processing and change handling. Assist in food preparation and ensure adherence to food handling safety standards. Playground supervision, resetting toys and helping with the sanitizing rotation. Manage time effectively during busy periods to ensure timely service without compromising quality. Collaborate with team members to create a positive work environment. Requirements Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with customers and team members. Basic math skills for handling cash register operations and transactions. Knowledge of coffee preparation techniques is a plus. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Time management skills to prioritize tasks during peak hours. Must be able to follow food safety guidelines and maintain proper food handling practices.
