Job Description
Job Overview Join our vibrant café team as a passionate and energetic Barista! In this dynamic role, you will be the face of OddBird Cafe, creating memorable experiences for every guest through exceptional customer service and expertly crafted beverages. Your enthusiasm and attention to detail will help foster a welcoming atmosphere where customers feel valued and eager to return. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills in the food industry while working in a lively, fast-paced setting. Duties Prepare espresso beverages, coffee, and café drinks according to OddBird Café standards Maintain consistency in beverage quality, presentation, and speed of service Support daily bar operations and Front of House workflow Maintain a clean, organized, and service-ready bar environment Communicate clearly with team members during service periods Assist guests with menu questions and offer thoughtful recommendations Help educate guests on how to experience OddBird Café (including drinks, food pairings, and seasonal offerings) Support restocking, prep, and overall bar organization Follow daily opening, closing, and operational procedures Foster a positive, collaborative, and hospitality-focused team environment Operate Toast POS system and manage cash handling, cashiering and basic math to ensure currect transactions. Maintain food safety standards by adhering to proper food handling, preparation, and sanitation procedures Qualifications Barista or café experience preferred (training provided for the right candidate) Interest in coffee and willingness to learn beverage skills and standards Strong attention to detail and ability to follow processes Excellent communication and teamwork skills Ability to remain calm and professional during busy service periods Reliable transportation and consistent attendance required Ability to work flexible schedules, including mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, and peak business periods as needed Basic math skills for cash handling, retail math, and order accuracy Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and perform physical tasks involved in food preparation and serving Ability to lift up to 40 lbs occasionally The ideal OddBird Barista is someone who takes pride in both coffee quality and hospitality.
