Job Description
Job Overview We're a family-and women-owned cafe rooted in community, creativity, and connection. We take pride in serving thoughtfully prepared food, coffee, smoothies, food and more and in creating an environment where both our guests and our team feel seen, supported and inspired. We are seeking a passionate and dedicated person to join our team. As part of our team, you will play a crucial role in creating a welcoming atmosphere for our customers while preparing high-quality food and beverages. Our kitchen is fully open to the customers, so having the ability to multitask and provide exceptional customer service will enhance the café experience, making each visit memorable. If you have a love for food and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, we want to hear from you! Our hours are Monday through Friday 8am to 3 pm, and Saturday 8 am to 2 pm. Saturdays are a MUST with this position. Duties Coffee, Latte and Matcha preparation. Espresso preparation, milk steaming, latte art, coffee bean grinding and manual/automatic brewing. Also you will be trained to prepare and serve a variety of sandwiches, salads, soups and other food items according to established recipes and standards. Operate cash registers, process transactions accurately, and handle cash with precision. Food and Sandwich preparation including smoothies. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the café and kitchen area, including equipment and workstations. Engage with customers to provide excellent service, take orders, and offer recommendations based on their preferences. Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain high standards of hygiene in food preparation areas. Assist in inventory management by restocking supplies as needed and reporting any shortages to management. Collaborate with team members to create a positive work environment and support each other during busy periods. Experience Previous experience in the food service or café industry is required; a food handling certification is highly recommended. Familiarity with food preparation techniques and equipment. Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse clientele. Basic math skills for handling transactions and managing cash register operations. An understanding of food safety practices is essential for maintaining quality standards. Experience with working in a fast paced environment with the ability to prepare and cook food quickly and efficiently while maintaining high quality taste and presentation.
