Position Overview The Barista / Cashier serves as the face of Bonnie & Clydes and plays a critical role in creating memorable guest experiences. This position is responsible for preparing beverages, assisting guests, processing orders, maintaining cleanliness standards, and supporting daily café operations. Successful candidates are highly organized, people-oriented, detail-focused, and thrive in a team environment. This role may be full-time or part-time depending on location needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Guest Experience Deliver exceptional hospitality to every guest. Greet guests warmly and create a welcoming environment. Answer menu questions confidently and make recommendations. Resolve guest concerns professionally and escalate issues when necessary. Ensure every guest interaction reflects Bonnie & Clydes hospitality standards. Beverage Production Prepare espresso-based beverages, coffee drinks, teas, specialty beverages, and other menu items according to company recipes and standards. Maintain consistency, quality, and presentation across all beverages. Operate espresso machines, grinders, brewing equipment, and related café equipment safely and efficiently. Monitor beverage quality throughout each shift. Food Service & Order Fulfillment Assist with food preparation and assembly as required. Package and present orders accurately. Coordinate effectively with kitchen and front-of-house team members to ensure timely service. Maintain awareness of ticket flow and guest wait times. Point-of-Sale & Cash Handling Process guest orders using company POS systems. Handle cash, credit card transactions, gift cards, and digital payments accurately. Answer phones and assist with takeout, catering, and online orders when applicable. Maintain accuracy when entering orders and processing transactions. Opening & Closing Procedures Complete assigned opening, mid-shift, and closing duties. Assist in preparing the café for daily operations. Ensure all workstations are properly stocked, cleaned, and organized. Follow all company checklists and operational procedures. Cleanliness & Organization Maintain a clean, organized, and professional work environment. Clean and maintain coffee equipment, workstations, utensils, dining areas, and guest-facing spaces. Follow all food safety, sanitation, and health department requirements. Assist with dishwashing, trash removal, and general upkeep as needed. Inventory & Operational Support Monitor inventory levels throughout shifts. Restock products, ingredients, and supplies as needed. Communicate inventory shortages to leadership. Assist with receiving and organizing deliveries. Teamwork & Professionalism Work collaboratively with all front-of-house and back-of-house team members. Maintain a positive attitude during busy periods. Accept coaching and feedback professionally. Contribute to a culture of accountability, hospitality, and continuous improvement. Qualifications Required Minimum 1 year of barista, coffee shop, restaurant, or hospitality experience. Strong guest service and communication skills. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Reliable transportation and dependable attendance. Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 30 pounds. Ability to work mornings, weekends, and holidays as needed. Preferred Food Handler Certification. Previous experience with Toast POS or similar systems. Experience in specialty coffee environments. Experience in high-volume food service operations.
