Barista

Looking self-motivated folks who love coffee, food, and working with the public, who like to hustle in a busy environment. In addition to the job duties of the cafe worker and point of sale worker, the barista is responsible for making and serving drinks to order. Baristas are the lifeblood of a coffee shop and are key to a delicious and memorable customer experience. This position reports to the owner and manager and takes direction from the owner, manager, and shift leader. Pay raises based on performance and experience. Role-specific qualifying knowledge, skills, and abilities: Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks appropriately in a fast-paced service environment Knowledge of coffee drinks (in-depth knowledge and experience preferred, but training is provided) Ability to use cafe equipment including espresso machine, brewer, grinder, pour-over, scale, and measurement tools Ability to follow and memorize written and verbal recipes using weight and volume ratios Role-specific essential job duties: Maintain thorough and up-to-date knowledge of composition and preparation of all BPC drinks, answer questions from customers and team members as needed Using order tickets, prepare and serve drink orders and call out items for customers Prioritize tickets and drink orders effectively to maintain timely and efficient service Set up, maintain, and break down coffee bar throughout shift, including preparing drink ingredients, stocking cafeware, cleaning all surfaces and equipment, and troubleshooting as needed Use problem-solving skills to monitor and address drink quality and service items as needed throughout shift Monitor drink ticket times and communicate promptly to point of sale worker
