Job Description
The Viking Eatery is looking for students to fill the role of Barista. This position is provided by an off-campus entity, Moses Lake Ice N Sno, that has multiple locations around Moses Lake. Students may be asked to work at the Eatery, located on campus in the 1800 building, or at other events handled by Moses Lake Ice N Sno. Students must be available to work up to 16 hours per week. The total amount of hours will vary per quarter. This position is funded by State Work-Study. Valid 2025-2026 FAFSA and Work Study eligibility required for position. To work at the college, you will participate in a movement. Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Assist customers by brewing coffee and preparing beverages. Provide customer service with pre-packaged cookies and pastries. Provide customer services by operating point of sale and ensuring accurate orders. Follow prescribed recipes and preparation techniques for coffee drinks. Maintain inventory by replenishing coffee bean supply, stocking coffee brewing equipment, and packaged items. Maintain equipment by following operating instructions, performing preventative maintenance, and calling for repairs if needed. Maintain safe and healthy work environment by following organization standards and sanitation regulations. May also assist with kitchen prep as needed. Other duties as may be assigned. Interested students must be enrolled at BBCC for more than 6 credits. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted. Handle and count money. Ability to understand verbal and written instructions. Possess, or be willing to obtain, a Washington State Food Card. Be willing to provide excellent customer service and educate customers about items. Bi-lingual English/Spanish or English/Ukranian encouraged to apply. Interested students shall complete the BBCC online application.
