About the Black Cat Coffeehouse The Black Cat has been a community hub in the Chequamegon Bay region since 1995. We are a busy coffeehouse and cafe that specializes in handcrafted food and drinks. Black Cat Coffeehouse is a LGBTQ friendly work environment. Job Summary We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Barista to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a love for coffee and a commitment to providing exceptional customer service. As a Barista, you will be responsible for crafting high-quality beverages, maintaining a clean and inviting café environment, and ensuring that each customer has a memorable experience. Duties Prepare and serve a variety of beverages according to established recipes and standards Operate the Toast POS system for order processing and cash handling Provide excellent customer service by engaging with customers, taking orders, and addressing any inquiries or concerns Maintain cleanliness and organization of the café area Ensure compliance with food safety and handling regulations Assist in inventory management, including restocking supplies as needed Handle cash transactions accurately and efficiently while maintaining basic math skills for register operations Collaborate with team members to create a positive work environment Experience Previous barista or coffee shop experience is preferred but not required Familiarity with food service operations is a plus Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented atmosphere. Strong attention to detail with a commitment to cleanliness and sanitation.
