The ideal candidate will have a love for coffee and food, along with a commitment to providing exceptional customer service. As a Barista, you will be responsible for preparing and serving high-quality beverages and food items while ensuring a clean and welcoming environment for our customers. Responsibilities Prepare and serve a variety of coffee drinks, teas, and food items according to established recipes and standards. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the café area, including equipment, utensils, and seating areas. Follow food safety guidelines and best practices in food handling to ensure customer safety. Assist customers with menu selections and provide recommendations based on their preferences. Operate the Square POS system efficiently for order taking and payment processing. Handle cash transactions accurately and maintain proper cash register procedures. Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations during peak hours. Requirements Previous experience in the food industry or coffee service is preferred but not mandatory. Basic math skills for handling cash transactions and making change. Knowledge of food safety practices and proper food handling techniques is essential. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Strong communication skills with a friendly demeanor to interact with customers effectively. Willingness to learn about different coffee brewing methods and menu items. Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays as needed. This is for a part-time position, with a high ceiling for tip pay. Great position for college students!
