As a leading hotel in the luxury market, Waldorf Astoria Beverly Hills is looking for a Sommelier to join the Food and Beverage Team at this beautiful property! This Forbes 5Star, AAA 5Diamond hotel has 170 rooms, 6,300 square feet of banquet space, and 4 food and beverage outlets. This includes a new Italian Tuscan Steakhouse, a rooftop restaurant, lobby lounge, and inroom dining. We are seeking a Sommelier for our new Baldi Tuscan Steakhouse! The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of experience working in a fine dining, wine focused environment. Familiarity with Italian wines and culture is strongly preferred.

The pay rate for this role is $26.49 plus 1.5% of wine sales and is based on applicable and specialized experience and location. What will I be doing? The Sommelier is responsible for curating, maintaining, and executing the restaurant's worldclass wine program, with a strong emphasis on Italian wines and luxury selections. This individual provides expert wine service to guests, trains staff, manages inventory, and works closely with the culinary team to offer thoughtful, foodfriendly pairings that reflect the restaurant's refined Italian identity. This role plays a key part in delivering a Forbes FiveStar experience through wine knowledge, intuitive hospitality, and operational excellence. Including responsibilities such as:
Guide guests through an exceptional wine experience, recommending pairings and rare selections to complement the cuisine and enhance the guest journey. Maintain and organize the wine cellar, ensuring proper rotation, labeling, and storage. Conduct weekly inventory and assist with ordering and restocking.
Merchandise highmargin and exclusive wines, and assist in building wine sales through education and guest interaction.
Train frontofhouse staff in wine knowledge, proper service techniques, and responsible alcohol service. Conduct regular tastings and workshops.
Design, update, and manage the wine list, collaborating with the Beverage Director and Executive Chef to align with seasonal menus and regional authenticity.
Lead or assist in hosting wine dinners, special tastings, and promotional events to elevate the brand and engage clientele.
Assist in maintaining glassware and wine service tools (decanting equipment, Coravin systems, etc.). Assist with POS updates, wine list printing, and label accuracy. Collaborate with marketing to promote wine events, list accolades, and seasonal releases. Maintain Forbes and luxury service standards through all guest interactions. Perform other duties as requested by management. What are we looking for?
