Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking an energetic, flexible, and personable Bartender to join our dynamic hospitality crew onboard our floating tiki bar. In this role, you will craft exceptional drinks, deliver outstanding customer service, and create a lively atmosphere that puts guests at ease and encourages people to keep coming back. Your enthusiasm and attention to detail will ensure every guest enjoys a memorable experience. Whether working in a fine dining setting, nightclub, or banquet environment, your expertise in beverage service and hospitality will shine through, with a particular emphasis in Tiki drinks/bar experience. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills in a fast-paced, vibrant environment where teamwork and positive energy are celebrated. Duties Prepare and serve a variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages with precision and flair Engage with guests in a friendly, professional manner to enhance their overall experience Manage analogue (paper and cash) POS systems accurately and precisely Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar area in compliance with food safety standards Monitor guest consumption responsibly, ensuring adherence to alcohol service laws and policies Restock bar supplies efficiently during shifts to ensure smooth service flow, and communicate inventory promptly and accurately Handle cash transactions accurately, including cashiering duties and basic math calculations Collaborate with team members (Captain and potential additional crew) during catering events, banquets, or nightclub shifts to deliver seamless service Work in close proximity to another person for multiple hours at a time (Captain and bartender share a space of approximately 12 square feet) Provide engaging conversation with guests when not actively mixing beverages (plus if you can mix and talk at the same time) Physical flexibility to bend and move in repetitive ways throughout shift Look for opportunities to make each experience memorable and enjoyable for each guest Crew the boat during departures and landings (line handling, physical nature of pushing the boat off the dock, and jumping from the boat to the dock during docking) Requirements Proven experience as a bartender in Tiki, fine dining, nightclub, or banquet settings preferred, though ability to converse and entertain people from all backgrounds is more important Clean hand writing preferred Multitasking (crafting multiple drinks at once) Strong time management skills to handle multiple orders efficiently during busy moments Excellent customer service skills with the ability to engage guests positively Knowledge of food safety regulations and proper food handling procedures Ability to perform basic math for cash handling, sales calculations, and retail math tasks Previous restaurant or food industry experience preferred; retail math skills are beneficial Must be able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays. Typical possible shift hours range from 10am-10pm with most shifts between the hours of 2-9:30pm Comfortable working on a moving, unstable surface, lifting up to 50lbs, transporting supplies to and from the boat using a cart, and comfort handling lines on a boat Willingness to earn a captain's for hire license is a plus Join us to be part of an energetic team dedicated to delivering exceptional experiences, and spend your summer days enjoying beautiful Big Bear Lake from the best vantage point ever- on the water. Base pay of minimum wage, and excellent tips, though hours are somewhat unpredictable due to the nature of seasonal bookings.
