The concept celebrates simplicity, elegance, and the integrity of exceptional ingredients—brought to life through thoughtful technique and genuine hospitality. The Bartender at Maréla is a key ambassador of the guest experience, responsible for delivering refined, intuitive, and engaging bar service. This role blends technical craft with warm hospitality, creating an atmosphere where guests feel welcomed, cared for, and inspired. The ideal candidate brings a passion for wine, spirits, and coastal cuisine, paired with a deep commitment to excellence and team collaboration. Core Responsibilities Guest Experience & Hospitality Deliver gracious, attentive, and personalized service aligned with Maréla's luxury hospitality standards Create a welcoming bar environment that encourages connection, discovery, and return visits Engage guests with thoughtful recommendations, storytelling, and menu knowledge Anticipate guest needs and respond with a sense of urgency, professionalism, and care Handle guest concerns with composure, discretion, and solution-oriented service Beverage Craft & Execution Prepare and serve cocktails, wine, beer, and non-alcoholic beverages to exacting standards Execute a beverage program that reflects Southern European inspiration and wine-forward philosophy Maintain deep knowledge of cocktail recipes, spirits, wine regions, and pairings Ensure consistency, presentation, and quality in every beverage served Support seasonal menu updates and collaborate on cocktail development when applicable Wine & Beverage Knowledge Demonstrate strong knowledge of wines, with emphasis on coastal European varietals and regions Provide confident, guest-friendly wine recommendations and pairings Maintain familiarity with the full beverage program, including low-ABV and non-alcoholic offerings Participate in ongoing training and tastings to continuously elevate expertise Bar Operations & Organization Maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked bar at all times Execute opening, closing, and side work duties with precision and accountability Accurately process orders and payments using POS systems Monitor inventory levels and communicate needs proactively to leadership Adhere to all health, safety, and sanitation standards Team Collaboration Work seamlessly with servers, kitchen, and leadership to ensure a cohesive guest experience Support teammates during high-volume service periods with a team-first mindset Contribute to a positive, respectful, and high-performing culture Participate in pre-shift meetings and ongoing training initiatives Compliance & Standards Verify guest age and ensure responsible alcohol service in accordance with local laws Follow all company policies, including cash handling and beverage controls Uphold Maréla and Foley Hospitality Group standards of conduct, appearance, and professionalism Qualifications Minimum 2+ years of bartending experience in an upscale or luxury restaurant or bar Strong knowledge of classic and contemporary cocktails, wine, and spirits Passion for hospitality and creating elevated guest experiences Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to multitask and perform in a fast-paced, high-volume environment Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality Must be at least 21 years of age Spanish language skills are a plus Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods Ability to lift and carry up to 25-40 pounds Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as business needs require Why Join Maréla At Maréla, we are more than a restaurant—we are a celebration of coastal culture, culinary artistry, and meaningful connection.
