Bartender

Bartender Position Summary:

We are looking for a part-time Bartender to join the historic Johnny's Bar in the West Adams area of Los Angeles, east of Culver City! Johnny's West Adams is a beautiful, fun, and active property, featuring the historic Johnny's Pastrami Food Stand and the local-favorite Johnny's Bar with two story tall ceilings, marble countertops, leather couches, built-in DJ booth, etc. Johnny's Bar hosts large private events in addition to small groups of friends just toasting the day, and often includes DJs and live bands as part of the evening's entertainment. We are looking for a friendly, experienced, open-hearted, hard-working, reliable, and creatively driven hospitality professional to be a part of this fun and energetic bar team! This person would also be responsible for property and table maintenance inside the bar area and outside on the patios. We are looking for someone to work

FRIDAY, SUNDAY

(shifts could be a range from 4pm-12:30am) and

SATURDAY

(shifts could be a range from 4pm-2:30am) nights, with availability and options to work other nights of the week when private events are booked on property. We aim to create LA's greatest neighborhood bar based around classic cocktails, wines, craft beer, great music, art, and warm celebration.

Requirements:

2+ years experience as a bartender in a high-end environment and familiarity with wines, beers, and classic cocktails. Ability to maintain a jovial demeanor and positive attitude in high energy service situations. Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the menu and restaurant services. Be an expert on all aspects of our food and beverage program. Consult customers on cocktail, wine, and beer purchases, as well as up-sell when appropriate. Ensuring property and table cleanliness and maintenance behind the bar, as well as beyond the bar itself, both inside Johnny's Bar and throughout the outside patio area. Be able to complete all closing procedures nightly. Follow established safety and sanitation procedures for food handling. Complete all assigned tasks in a timely and efficient manner. Be a fast learner, self-motivated and reliable. Knowledge of a POS system. Be skilled at organization, prioritization, and execution. Maintain a calm demeanor during periods of high volume.

Cards/Licenses/Certificates:

Must be 21+ years of age. TIPS certification. CA Food Handlers certification/RBS Certification. Excellent References.
