As we expand into beer, wine, and evening service offerings, we are building a dynamic beverage program that blends café culture with a high-quality bar experience. We are seeking a motivated, skilled, and hospitality-driven Lead Beer Pourer / Bar Lead to take ownership of our beer and wine service while supporting cross-trained café operations. This is a key front-of-house leadership role responsible for setting the tone of the guest experience and ensuring smooth, consistent service across all beverage offerings. Position Overview The Lead Beer Pourer / Bar Lead oversees daily bar operations including beer and wine service, light cocktail preparation, inventory management, and team leadership. This role also includes cross-training between bar and café service, ensuring flexibility across espresso service, POS operations, and guest engagement. The ideal candidate is experienced in fast-paced hospitality environments, confident in beverage service, and capable of leading a team during busy shifts. You will be responsible for maintaining service quality, enforcing safety and alcohol compliance standards, and helping build a strong beverage culture at Brewjee Coffee Co. Key ResponsibilitiesBar & Beverage Operations Lead daily beer, wine, and beverage service operations Pour and serve beer and wine with speed, accuracy, and consistency Prepare simple wine-based cocktails and signature beverage offerings Maintain clean, organized, and fully stocked bar stations Ensure proper glassware, presentation, and portion control Deliver exceptional guest hospitality and service at all times Leadership & Team Training Lead and support bar staff during assigned shifts Train team members on beverage service, product knowledge, and hospitality standards Mentor staff on beer styles, wine basics, and café beverage offerings Maintain high service standards across all beverage stations Support onboarding and ongoing staff development Inventory & Vendor Management Manage beer, wine, and bar inventory levels Track product usage, waste, and ordering needs Coordinate with vendors for timely restocking and deliveries Maintain proper storage, rotation, and organization of all beverages Assist leadership with inventory planning and cost control POS & Cash Handling Operate POS systems accurately for all beverage transactions Ensure proper cash handling, order accuracy, and end-of-shift reconciliation Maintain accuracy in retail math, discounts, and sales processing Support reporting of daily sales and inventory usage Compliance & Safety Follow all food safety, sanitation, and cleanliness standards Ensure responsible alcohol service and adherence to all legal requirements Maintain compliance with health department regulations Support safe and efficient workplace practices at all times Cross-Training (Bar + Café Operations) Cross-train as a barista to support espresso and café service Assist with customer service, drink preparation, and POS operations in café areas Provide support across stations during peak hours Maintain flexibility to work both bar and café roles as needed Guest Experience Create a welcoming, friendly, and professional guest environment Engage customers with product knowledge and hospitality Handle guest feedback and concerns with professionalism Help create a lively, community-focused atmosphere QualificationsRequired Experience in bar service, beer pouring, or wine service Strong hospitality and customer service skills Ability to work in fast-paced environments with high volume Strong attention to detail, cleanliness, and organization Basic math skills for cash handling and POS operations Ability to stand for long periods and work flexible shifts Must be 21+ (required for alcohol service compliance) Preferred Experience as a bartender, bar lead, or shift lead Knowledge of beer styles, wine varieties, or craft beverage programs Experience with POS systems (Aloha, Micros, or similar) Barista or café experience (strong plus for cross-training) Inventory or stock management experience Leadership or team training experience in hospitality Experience working events, banquets, or high-volume service environments What Success Looks LikeFirst 90 Days Master beverage menu and service standards Maintain smooth, efficient bar operations during service Build strong relationships with team members and guests Become fully cross-trained in café and bar operations First Year Establish strong, consistent bar service standards Improve inventory accuracy and cost control Support training and development of new staff Help grow beverage sales and guest engagement Become a trusted leader within the front-of-house team Ideal Candidate You are a confident hospitality professional who thrives in fast-paced, social environments.
