On-Call Bartender The Pacific-Union Club San Francisco, CA Job Details Part-time | Full-time $29.48 an hour 1 hour ago Benefits Flexible schedule Qualifications Bar safety compliance (food service) Hospitality industry experience Full Job Description Job Overview The Pacific-Union Club is seeking polished, professional On-Call Bartenders to support our distinguished Food & Beverage team. This position provides, often on short notice, beverage service for a la carte dining, banquets, private events, and special Club functions within one of the world's most prestigious private clubs. The Club is a no-tipping environment , offering the stability of a strong union wage while allowing our team to focus on delivering exceptional hospitality to members and guests. Duties Prepare the main bar, banquet bars, and service areas for daily operations, banquets, private events, and special functions. Prepare and serve classic cocktails, contemporary cocktails, wine, beer, spirits, and non-alcoholic beverages according to Club standards. Provide polished beverage and light-food service in bar, dining, card room, banquet, and event settings. Accurately record and bill beverage and food items served. Maintain clean, organized, sanitary, secure, and service-ready bar areas and equipment. Complete opening, side work, restocking, breakdown, cleaning, and closing duties as assigned. Support exceptional member and guest experiences through attentive, professional hospitality. Skills Bartending experience in upscale dining, luxury hospitality, private club, lounge, banquet, or catering environments preferred. Strong knowledge of beverage mixology, classic cocktails, contemporary cocktails, wine varietals, and bar service standards. Professional communication skills in English. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, discretion, and professional demeanor. California Responsible Beverage Service (RBS) certification required within 60 days of hire, unless already certified. California Food Handler certification required within 30 days of hire, if applicable to assigned food-service duties. Flexible availability, including mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, banquets, and special events. Work Environment Prolonged standing and walking throughout shifts. Frequent lifting and carrying up to 30 pounds. Pushing carts or transporting bar supplies with loads up to 100 pounds. Fast-paced bar, dining, banquet, and event environments. High-touch interaction with members, guests, and team members. Schedule This is an on-call position requiring flexibility based on Club needs. Shifts may include mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends, holidays, banquets, private events, and other special functions. Scheduling may vary week to week according to operational demand. About The Pacific-Union Club The Pacific-Union Club is a historic private club in San Francisco known globally for its tradition, discretion, extraordinary standards of hospitality, and reputation as one of the most prestigious private clubs in the world. Uniform and Appearance Bartenders are required to maintain a conservative, polished, and professional standard of appearance. Employees provide their own white shirts, black slacks, black bow tie, black socks, and black shoes. The Club provides a jacket.
