Position Overview:
The Town of Avon, Colorado, is accepting applications for a Bartender - Special Events ! The Bartender will greet customers, learn about their preferences, answer questions, and prepares and serves beverages. The Bartender will also upsell items, utilize proper equipment, and handle basic cleaning duties. To succeed as a Bartender, you should have a neat appearance and engaging, friendly personality. You should be efficient, observant, knowledgeable, and personable. Essential Functions:
Welcoming and listening to customers to determine beverage preferences, taking drink orders, and making recommendations as necessary. Serving beverages to customers. Checking ID's and/or wristbands or stamps to ensure customers' IDs have been checked and are of legal age to purchase alcohol. Taking inventory before and after events. Adhering to all food safety and quality regulations. Handling cash, credit, and debit card transactions, ensuring charges are accurate, returning correct change to patrons, and balancing the cash register. Maintaining a clean work area by removing trash, cleaning serving surfaces, and washing utensils, and equipment. Why Work for the Town of Avon? Qualifications This position requires availability to work on Friday July 3, 2026, and October 9-11, 2026. Holds current Responsible Server Training certificate. Additional education, training, certificates, or experience may be required. Must meet state minimum age to serve alcohol; must be 18 years of age to pour and serve while being supervisor by staff 21 years of age or older. Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays. Positive, engaging personality, exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, and professional appearance. Ability to demonstrate basic math and computer skills.
