Barback, Hank's Oyster Bar on the Wharf Hanks on the Wharf LLC Washington, DC Job Details Part-time 1 day ago Qualifications Customer communication Full Job Description Barback Position Summary The Barback supports the bartenders by restocking all bar products. This role is responsible for preparing the bar area in a professional manner for new guests. Essential Duties and Responsibilities The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following: Follow all procedures and guidelines in the Employee Handbook Complete TIPS certification Arrive on time and ready to work at scheduled time Set up and break down bar area according to location guidelines Complete all opening, ongoing, and closing sidework in accordance with location standards Work as a team with all staff members, both FOH and BOH Practice good communication skills Create a welcoming environment Assist the bartenders with whatever is needed Provide water for the guests, refill when necessary Help attend to guests? needs Restock glasses, plates, etc. Sweep/mop when needed Assist in bar prep, including juicing fruit, cut garnishes Putting away bar deliveries, and restocking product at the bar Changing beer kegs Clear and wipe the bar in timely manner Create a memorable and positive experience for guests Notify the MOD of any unhappy or dissatisfied guest immediately, no matter how minor Strive for 100% guest satisfaction Support JLRG goals and values Shows respect and sensitivity for cultural differences Promotes a harassment-free workplace Promotes anti-discrimination in all aspects of work Other duties as assigned Physical Demands and Work Environment The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.
