We describe it as "American-Chinese by a Chinese-American," a concept that takes the nostalgic flavors we all grew up with and elevates them through the lens of classic culinary technique and high-quality ingredients. It's fast, it's intense, and it's deeply rooted in the idea that this specific cuisine deserves the same level of respect and care as every other cuisine. We're part of Tim Ma Hospitality, which means we value systems and precision just as much as we value flavor. At Lucky Danger, we work hard, move fast, and take immense pride in being the neighborhood's go-to spot. We're looking for people who want to master a unique craft and grow with a brand that is redefining what modern American-Chinese food looks like. The Role The Barback is the "Engine" of the bar. You are the reason the bartenders can focus on the guests. Your goal is to ensure the bar never runs out of the tools it needs to provide Radical Hospitality—from fresh ice and clean glassware to prepped garnishes and stocked spirits.
What You'll Own Stock & Flow:
Maintain pars for ice, citrus, syrups, and spirits; ensure the bar is never "down" on a key ingredient during a rush.
Glassware:
Manage the flow of glassware from the floor to the dish-pit and back to the bar, ensuring everything is polished and ready.
Cleanliness:
Keep the bar area tidy—clearing empty glasses from the bar top, wiping spills, and managing trash/recycling.
Prep:
Assist bartenders with daily prep, including juicing, garnishes, and batching.
Support:
Act as an extra set of eyes for the bartenders, helping to clear plates or greet guests when the bar is at capacity. Who You Are High energy with a strong sense of urgency. A "hustler" who sees what needs to be done before being asked. Ability to lift 50+ lbs (kegs, ice, cases of wine) and stay on your feet for long shifts. An aspiring bartender who wants to learn the craft from the ground up. What We Offer Hourly + Tips. Health benefits. A clear path to Bartender for those who show initiative and product knowledge. Dining privileges across the group. More detail about Lucky Danger
