  • Full-time Job Summary We are seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Sommelier to elevate our guests' fine dining experience through expert wine service, pairing recommendations, and exceptional customer care.
As a key member of our hospitality team, you will curate wine selections, assist with menu planning, and provide personalized guidance to ensure every guest enjoys a memorable culinary journey. Your enthusiasm for fine wines and dedication to outstanding service will help create a lively, welcoming atmosphere that celebrates the art of wine and food pairing. This job is an hourly tipped position that typically starts at $20/hr plus tips. Duties Curate and maintain an extensive wine list, including sourcing and inventory management using POS systems (Toast preferred). Assist guests in selecting wines that complement their meals, upselling where appropriate to enhance their experience and increase sales. Provide detailed descriptions of wine options, including origin, flavor profiles, and pairing suggestions to educate and excite guests. Collaborate with culinary staff on menu planning to develop wine pairings that highlight seasonal ingredients and signature dishes. Serve wine professionally at the table, ensuring proper pouring techniques and adherence to food safety standards. Manage wine storage areas, monitor inventory levels, place weekly orders and conduct regular stock checks to prevent spoilage or shortages, and conduct monthly inventories. Support banquet events and catering services by providing expert wine service for large groups or special occasions. Maintain excellent customer service by addressing guest inquiries promptly, resolving issues efficiently, and creating a welcoming environment for all patrons. Experience Proven experience as a Sommelier or in a similar fine dining or food service role with a focus on wine expertise. Strong knowledge of the food industry, including menu planning, meal preparation, and food safety protocols. Experience working with POS systems such as Toast is highly desirable. Previous banquet experience or catering background is a plus. Demonstrated ability in sales techniques like upselling to enhance guest satisfaction and revenue growth. Familiarity with food handling standards, alcohol service regulations, and cash handling procedures. Excellent customer service skills with a friendly yet professional demeanor.
