Restaurant Front of House - Host/Food Runner/Barback

Seeking charismatic, fun-loving, and entertaining front-of-house staff for a fun eatery restaurant in Kainaliu at the Hale Cocoa for its morning/daytime brunch service. This position is a "Front of House" generalist who can bus tables, run food to guests from the kitchen, assist the bartender, and greet guests. On barback shifts, you will also help the bartender with washing dishes, keeping the floors clean and the supplies and garnishes stocked. A busser/food runner assists the servers with food delivery to tables and table cleaning. This is a great platform to become a server or bartender with us later. The Hale Cocoa serves breakfast/lunch via the Theatery Restaurant next door and is located next to Aloha Theater in Kainaliu. It is a comfort food dining experience providing daytime food and bar service 8am-3pm Wednesdays through Sundays. Shifts are generally 4-7 hours. Apply online to secure an interview. Qualifications Can stand and walk for 4-7 hours Can carry trays of food weighing up to 30lbs for up to 200 feet Social skills and love talking to people in a friendly and professional manner Contributes to building and maintaining a positive work culture Strong work ethic Previous restaurant experience required Amazing personality Ability to have a good time at work Ability to get along well with others Flexible schedule Ability to communicate effectively Ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced environment Ability to handle guest requests and needs in a professional and pleasant manner Ability to clearly communicate with both FOH and BOH A dependable means of transportation to and from work for all days scheduled Responsibilities Move food from kitchen to customer tables Remove dirty dishes and move bus tubs to dishwasher station Ensure guest satisfaction with attention to detail, kindness and Creates and fosters a positive, fun, safe environment at all times Ensure all safety and sanitation standards are strictly adhered to at all times Knowledge of reservation, phone and POS system(s) Prompt and accurate food and beverage orders A full knowledge of all menu items both food and drink Assist in maintaining a clean and safe dining environment and/or bar area Assist team members Constant communication with the team and Manager of the Day Understands when to ask for help, within the team Handling and communicating guest special needs or requests Knowledge of guest dietary restrictions and preferences Adheres to all safe cash handling procedures/payments Performs all other duties as assigned by management team Hosts and bussers will have $16/hour wages plus tips from server/bartender sales equal to 2% of food sales plus extra discretionary tips. This is a part time position and requires working on at least two weekend days - Friday, Saturday, and or Sunday. If you cannot work weekends, we cannot hire you.
