Acanto - Chicago, IL Position Summary The Bartender is responsible for delivering exceptional guest experiences by preparing high-quality beverages and providing attentive, knowledgeable service at Acanto. This role requires strong hospitality skills, efficiency in a high-volume environment, and a passion for craft cocktails, beer, and wine. Key Responsibilities Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages according to Acanto's recipes and standards Provide friendly, engaging, and professional service to all guests at the bar and service well Maintain thorough knowledge of the beverage menu, including cocktails, beer, wine, and spirits Ensure accuracy in order taking, cash handling, and POS system use Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar area, including bar setup and breakdown Monitor guest alcohol consumption and ensure responsible service in compliance with local laws Restock bar inventory, including liquor, glassware, garnishes, and supplies Collaborate with servers and kitchen staff to ensure seamless service Follow all health, safety, and sanitation guidelines Qualifications Must meet state minimum age for serving alcoholic beverages ServSafe Food Handlers Certificate, BASSETT Certificate 1 year of closely related bartending experience, work experience in high volume or fast casual dining restaurant environment preferred Demonstrates the ability to interact with guests and coworkers in a friendly, enthusiastic manner Has the ability to speak, read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence and policy documents, as well as converse comfortably with guests Cash handling and customer service experience preferred Work Environment Perform calmly and effectively in a very busy work environment Work in a confined, crowded space of variable noise and temperature levels Must be able to stand or walk for the majority of a shift Must be able to lift and carry sacks, boxes, product up to 50 pounds from floor to waist level, approximately 20 feet Must be able to reach (6" to overhead), bend, stoop, and wipe
Compensation & Benefits Pay Rate:
$12.62 per hour plus tips
