Job Description

Position Summary The Barback supports bartenders and beverage service staff by maintaining a clean, organized, and fully stocked bar area. At Metairie Country Club, the Barback helps deliver exceptional service to members and guests while ensuring compliance with club standards, health regulations, and responsible alcohol service practices.
Reports To:
Bar Manager, Dining Room Manager, Dining Room Captain Key Responsibilities Stock bars with liquor, beer, wine, mixers, garnishes, glassware, ice, and supplies before, during, and after service. Assist bartenders in preparing the bar for daily operations, special events, tournaments, banquets, and member functions. Replenish inventory throughout shifts to ensure uninterrupted service. Maintain cleanliness and organization of bar areas, storage rooms, coolers, and service stations. Wash and polish glassware, bar tools, and equipment. Remove trash, recyclables, and empty bottles from bar areas. Change kegs and assist with beverage deliveries and inventory storage. Restock garnishes, napkins, straws, and other service items. Follow all food safety, sanitation, and alcohol service regulations. Provide courteous and professional assistance to members and guests when needed. Support bartenders and management with opening and closing duties. Assist with inventory counts and report low-stock items to supervisors. Maintain a professional appearance and uphold the club's standards of hospitality. Qualifications Previous barback, food and beverage, restaurant, hotel, or hospitality experience preferred. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Strong teamwork and communication skills. Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly. Ability to stand, walk, bend, and reach for extended periods. Availability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and special club events. Knowledge of beverage service and alcohol regulations is a plus. Physical Requirements Frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling of beverage cases, kegs, and supplies. Continuous standing and walking during shifts. Ability to work in varying temperatures, including coolers and outdoor event spaces. Pay:
$13.00 - $15.00 per hour
