Job Description

Bartender Position Overview:
We are seeking professional bartender who is energetic, responsible and able to work in a customer service focused fast-paced environment. Our Food and Beverage offerings include two distinct restaurants in Boston - Deck12 with iconic city views and VELA. Must be able to work holidays and weekends. Additional skills include the ability to multitask, work as a team, and service customers with a smile. Wine knowledge is a requirement. TIPS certified is a plus. Part-time availability able to work weekday and weekend shifts. Our Bartenders are responsible for greeting and serving YOTEL Boston's guests in a genuine and friendly manner. Bartenders are required to prepare beverages requested by guests and monitor guest behavior and guest alcohol consumption to determine when alcohol service to the guest should cease; notify management of incidents involving excessive alcohol consumption or impaired condition of customers; check identification whenever the age of a guest requesting alcoholic beverage service is questionable.
Bartender Major Duties & Responsibilities:
Representing the cocktail list and presenting our cocktails to our guests, explaining the art behind each creation, introducing the magic of flavors to create memorable experiences Communicating all cocktail related facts to all service staff Organizing tasting of the new cocktails based on seasonal menu changes Supporting dining room staff/ preparing drinks and beverages for guests Performing bartending duties in a timely manner adjusted to the business volume Making sure the bar is stocked with all needed liquor brands, beers and wines by the glass, all needed ingredients and garnishes Validating cocktail menu - cleanliness and correct pricing Making sure the bar area is up to health department standards Assisting and working closely with other bartenders performing bartender duties Communicating any bar and beverage related problems to managers This position description is not intended to be an exhaustive list of all duties, responsibilities, or qualifications associated with the associated with the position.
