(POS Attendant - Beverage & Guest Services)

Part-Time, Minimum 15 hours per week, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays Reports to: General Manager About Bark Social Bark Social is a first-of-its-kind social club for dogs and dog lovers—offering a professionally monitored off-leash dog park combined with a full-service bar, café, and retail space. We are a community hub built on hospitality, canine camaraderie, and exceptional guest service. Position Summary We are pleased to offer you the full-time role of Pawtender at Bark Social. As a Pawtender, you will serve as a key member of our front-of-house team—focused on beverage service, customer interaction, and POS operations. You'll be responsible for creating a high-touch experience for all guests by delivering outstanding hospitality, precise order handling, and maintaining a clean and welcoming service environment. This is a guest-facing position best suited for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, dog-friendly space, and enjoys building positive energy and community. Key ResponsibilitiesBeverage & Bar Operations Pour, serve, and monitor the sale of beer, wine, and liquor in compliance with Maryland alcohol laws. Maintain a clean and well-organized bar and service station. Brew and maintain fresh coffee throughout the day (including drip and espresso machines). Uphold all safety and cleanliness standards behind the bar. Scheduling and Shift Responsibilities Your schedule will be created and managed by Bark Social's management team, including the General Manager. Shifts may include a mix of, (starting at 11am) afternoon, and evening coverage, including weekends and holidays. Point-of-Sale (POS) & Guest Interaction Accurately process beverage and retail orders using the Square POS system. Communicate clearly and professionally with guests regarding products, services, and wait times. Provide a warm, helpful, and brand-aligned experience to every guest. Vendor & Inventory Coordination Receive, check, and store beverage and supply deliveries. Ensure accurate stock rotation and cleanliness at the front-of-house service stations. Support café and bar supply management as needed. Qualifications 1+ years of experience in bartending, beverage service, or front-of-house roles preferred. Familiarity with Square POS or similar systems. Ability to multitask and stay organized in high-volume environments. Reliable transportation for early-morning or late-night shifts. Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs and stand for extended periods. Strong communication skills and guest engagement focus. Must be 18+ and legally able to serve alcohol in the state of Maryland. Prior TIPS, alcohol service, or safety certifications are a plus (may be reimbursed upon completion).
Compensation & Schedule Starting Pay:
$5/hour plus tips. Tips are pooled and distributed based on hours worked and team performance.
Schedule:
Part Time (minimum 20 hours/week), including weekends, holidays, and early/late shifts. Opportunity for performance-based raises and leadership advancement. Certifications for alcohol service may be reimbursed based on performance. Additional Requirements Must sign a liability waiver acknowledging the risks of working in a dog-friendly environment. Completion of Bark Social's safety and alcohol service training prior to start. Adherence to all Bark Social Club Rules, service protocols, and guest standards. Background checks may be required. Bark Social is a growing and dynamic environment—team members may occasionally be asked to assist in other guest service areas to ensure smooth operations and a great overall experience. At-Will Employment This position is at-will. Either Bark Social or the employee may terminate employment at any time, for any lawful reason, with or without cause or notice. Conditions of Employment This offer is contingent upon: Verification of your identity and eligibility to work in the United States. Completion of a background check. Signed Bark Social Employee Handbook Acknowledgment and Waiver. Agreement to Bark Social's Vaccination & Dog Safety Policy (including proof of vaccinations and spay/neuter for any personal dogs on-site).
