Job Description

Overview Join our nonprofit team where our mission is to promote the joy of horses to a diverse community, regardless of income or ability, through riding and therapeutic horsemanship activities, while preserving the open space of Gunpowder Falls State Park. We are searching for a candidate that has solid horse experience and knowledge to complement our existing feeding and chores staff. Flexibility and reliability are a must. We have a robust team that needs another member to cover feeding shifts, barn chores and can assist with other activities such as saddle fittings, FEC's, vet and farrier appointments. The opportunity for additional hours exist for the right candidate such as: Training rides / landscaping / administrative assistance / teaching lessons Requirements At least 2 years of day to day horse care Ability to recognize colic, choke, lameness, puncture wounds Understanding of metabolic conditions and equine dietary best practices Wound care, leg and foot wrapping experience Physical ability to perform heavy lifting (50 lbs) and work outdoors in various weather conditions Knowledge of horse safety Ability to work with horses respectfully and with kindness Reliable transportation Comfortable with technology, phone apps etc Ability to communicate clearly and in a timely fashion
Pay:
$16.00 - $19.00 per hour Application Question(s): Can reliably make shifts despite inclement weather
