Job Summary We are seeking Seasonal Bartenders to support bar operations at food and beverage concession areas along the Detroit Riverfront . This role requires an experienced bartender who can work independently in a fast-paced, high-volume outdoor environment while delivering exceptional customer service and maintaining responsible alcohol service standards. The ideal candidate is confident behind the bar, thrives under pressure, and is committed to providing a safe and enjoyable guest experience. Seasonal schedules may include days, evenings, weekends, and holidays based on Riverfront activity. Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities Must be TIPS (Training for Intervention Procedures) certified and maintain current certification throughout employment Provide friendly, professional, and efficient customer service to all guests Prepare and serve a wide variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages with speed and consistency Maintain thorough knowledge of drink menu items, ingredients, allergens, and daily specials Actively recommend and upsell beverages, including premium spirits and featured items Accurately take orders and process transactions using POS systems Handle cash, credit cards, and digital payments responsibly Perform accurate cash drops and reconcile cash drawer at the end of each shift Verify IDs and strictly follow responsible alcohol service guidelines; refuse service when required Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary bar area, including proper glassware handling Restock bar supplies and monitor inventory levels; communicate needs to management Follow all health, safety, and sanitation standards at all times Work collaboratively with team members to ensure efficient service Complete opening and closing duties as assigned Assist with general setup, breakdown, and cleanliness of bar and concession areas Perform additional tasks as needed to support overall operations Physical Demands and Abilities Must be able to stand, walk, stoop, and bend for 6+ hours per shift Must be able to lift 25-50 lbs Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions Ability to work quickly and efficiently in a high-volume environment
Job Qualifications Experience:
Must be an experienced bartender with the ability to work independently in a high-volume setting
Certification:
Current TIPS certification required
Cash Handling:
Experience handling cash and POS systems required
Customer Service:
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Knowledge:
Solid understanding of drink preparation, alcohol laws, and responsible service practices
Teamwork & Efficiency:
Ability to multitask and collaborate in a fast-paced environment
Flexibility:
