27 hours per week About Us American Legion Post 282 is a veteran-focused organization dedicated to serving veterans, their families, and the local community. We provide a welcoming environment where members and guests can gather for social events, dinners, fundraisers, and community activities. We are currently seeking a dependable and customer-focused Part-Time Bartender to join our team. Position Summary This position is specifically being hired to provide reliable bar coverage during our early-week operations. We are seeking an individual who can consistently work Monday through Wednesday and provide excellent customer service to our members and guests. The ideal candidate is friendly, dependable, professional, and comfortable working in a veterans organization environment.
Schedule Requirements Required Availability:
Monday Wednesday Sunday Scheduled Hours:
27 hours per week Approximately 9-hour shifts each day This position is intended to provide consistent staffing coverage during these days. Applicants should only apply if they can reliably commit to the Monday through Wednesday schedule. Additional hours may occasionally be available during special events, dinners, fundraisers, tournaments, and community activities. Responsibilities Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. Verify age and identification in accordance with Michigan liquor laws. Provide friendly, professional customer service. Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary bar area. Accurately handle cash, credit card, and POS transactions. Balance cash drawer and complete shift reports. Restock beverages, supplies, and inventory as needed. Monitor patrons and promote responsible alcohol consumption. Assist with Post events, dinners, fundraisers, bingo nights, and special activities. Follow all American Legion Post 282 policies and procedures. Report maintenance, safety, or customer concerns to management. QualificationsRequired Must be at least 21 years of age. Reliable transportation. Ability to consistently work Monday through Wednesday. Strong customer service and communication skills. Ability to stand for extended periods. Ability to lift up to 40 pounds. Dependable attendance and punctuality. Ability to work independently and responsibly. Preferred Previous bartending experience. Experience handling cash and operating a POS system. Knowledge of Michigan liquor laws and responsible alcohol service. Experience working in a veterans organization, nonprofit, social club, restaurant, or hospitality environment. What We're Looking For The successful candidate will be: Reliable and punctual.
