Job Description

Job Description Reserve:
a position averaging 20 hours a week (anywhere between 40-999 hours per year). The Cedric's Tavern Bartender will greet guests in the bar area and provide world class beverage and food service for the duration of their visit.
Duties will include:
preparing beverages; processing orders and payment transactions; engaging guests; and coordinating service for assigned area(s). Bartenders will deliver gracious hospitality and ensure all guests receive friendly, courteous and prompt service at all times following proscribed and established Biltmore service standards. In addition, staff will provide general support and assistance to the department, leadership, and company. Pay rate starts at $6.00/hr + tips, minimum $16.00/hr Schedule varies within hours of 10:00am-12:00am. Weekend availability required. Requirements 1. High school diploma (or GED). Additional training/certification(s) preferred. Ability to obtain TIPS, ALE and other related training required. 2. Minimum of six (6) months experience bartending, preferably in an upscale or fine dining environment. Ideal candidates will have at least one (1) year of experience. 3. Basic math skills; ability to create/follow recipes using proper mixology techniques. 4. Demonstrated commitment to delivering world class internal/external guest service. 5. Outstanding interpersonal and communications skills; must be able to engage with wide variety of guests and interact in a friendly and professional manner. 6. Proactive, exercises good judgment; can creatively problem solve and anticipate needs of guests; keen attention to detail with a focus on quality and service. 7. Strong organizational skills; must be able to multi-task and prioritize work. 8. Ability to quickly acquire knowledge about Biltmore, special activities/events, and Asheville and surrounding areas. 9. Must be 21 years of age or older.
Physical Requirements:
1. Lift, carry, push, and pull 25-50 pounds; lift and carry 25-50 pounds on a large serving tray, above shoulder level, with one hand; up to 25 pounds on a small cocktail tray, with one hand. 2. Endure various physical movements throughout work areas and over duration of work shift. 3. Ability to work in an environment that may include variable temperature conditions and noise levels; outdoor environments; and exposure to fumes, dust, and chemicals.
Essential Job Duties:
1. Greet and engage guests while delivering gracious hospitality. 2. Take orders, utilizing product knowledge and suggestive selling techniques. 3. Enter orders into POS system accurately; tracks tabs, charges, etc. for end of shift reconciliation. 4. Serve food and beverages in a friendly, efficient manner according to standards. 5. Ensure that guests have utensils, silverware, condiments. 6. Pre-bus/bus dirty glassware, dishes, and other items quickly; keep bar and public areas neat, clean, and free of debris at all times. 7. Anticipate guests' needs, respond promptly and maintain positive guest relations at all times. 8. Resolve guest complaints/issues to standards, ensuring guest satisfaction 9. Make sure area(s) are properly stocked, prepped, and set. 10. Opening/closing duties/responsibilities as assigned.
