Job Description

Job Summary Spend the season bartending in a high-energy, outdoor riverside setting where every shift brings new guests and fast-paced service. The Bartender at Big Wesser Riverside Pub is responsible for delivering efficient, high-volume beverage service while creating a welcoming and engaging guest experience. This role requires speed, organization, and a strong team mindset in a dynamic, outdoor environment. Seasonal (May-November 2026) Responsibilities Prepare and serve beer, cocktails, and specialty drinks in a high-volume setting Maintain speed, accuracy, and composure during busy service periods Provide friendly, engaging service to guests from a variety of backgrounds Assist guests with drink and food selections Anticipate and manage high traffic from river activities, tours, and events Maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked bar area (liquor, beer, mixers, ice, glassware) Prepare garnishes and complete bar setup for peak service Complete opening, closing, and breakdown duties as assigned Check IDs and ensure responsible alcohol service Monitor guest alcohol consumption and address issues as needed Process cash and POS transactions accurately Follow all food safety, beverage, and alcohol service regulations Collaborate with bartenders, servers, kitchen staff, and management Support special events, live music, and peak seasonal operations Adapt to outdoor conditions, including weather and fluctuating crowds Required Qualifications Minimum of 2 years bartending experience, preferably in a high-volume environment Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced setting while maintaining accuracy Strong communication and multitasking skills Friendly, outgoing demeanor with a strong work ethic Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure Must be at least 21 years of age Preferred Qualifications Experience working in outdoor or seasonal hospitality environments Familiarity with POS systems Experience working in event-driven or high-traffic venues Physical Requirements Ability to stand for extended periods of time Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions Availability to work nights, weekends, holidays, and peak seasonal periods The above noted job description is not intended to describe, in detail, the multitude of tasks that may be assigned but rather to provide a general sense of the responsibilities and expectations of this position.
