Job Description

Qualifications:

Job Purpose:
The Bartender at 506 Pub is responsible for delivering exceptional customer service by preparing and serving drinks, taking orders, and ensuring a high-quality experience for all patrons. The role requires maintaining a clean and organized bar, handling payments, and monitoring customer behavior to ensure safety and compliance with legal drinking age regulations. The Bartender will contribute to the smooth operation of the bar by restocking supplies and collaborating with the team to provide a welcoming environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and serve a variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages according to company recipes and customer preferences. Take customer orders and provide excellent service to ensure a positive experience. Verify customers' identification to confirm legal drinking age. Maintain a clean and organized bar area, including washing glassware and cleaning surfaces. Restock bar supplies and inventory to ensure efficient operations during shifts. Handle cash and operate POS systems accurately for processing payments. Monitor customer behavior to ensure safety and intervene when necessary to prevent overconsumption. Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth bar operations and address any issues promptly. Utilize upselling and suggestive selling techniques to enhance customer experience and increase revenue. Continuously improve knowledge of drinks, mixology, and industry trends to provide expert service.

Required Education:
High school diploma or
GED Preferred Education:
Bartending school or mixology courses

  • helpful for high-end bars or management roles Continued learning in wine, spirits, or craft cocktails
  • demonstrates expertise and professionalism
Required Experience:
Basic customer service skills Handling cash and POS systems Serving alcohol safely, sometimes under supervision
Preferred Experience:
Previous bartending or mixology experience Working in busy bars, nightclubs, or upscale establishments Knowledge of inventory, restocking, and bar management Experience with private events or catering
Required Skills and Abilities:
Strong customer service and communication Cash handling and using POS systems accurately Basic knowledge of drinks and alcohol service Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment Physical stamina for standing long hours and lifting supplies
Preferred Skills and Abilities:
Mixology and cocktail crafting Speed and efficiency during busy shifts Inventory management and restocking knowledge Conflict resolution and problem-solving with customers Upselling and suggestive selling to increase revenue
