POSITION SUMMARY
It is the responsibility of the Bartender to mix and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks and provide them to guests and servers. The Bartender must ensure his/her outlet is clean, organized, and properly stocked at all times while providing excellent guest service. All duties are to be performed in accordance with federal, state, local laws, regulations, and ordinances, as well as department and Company policies, practices, and procedures. Top 5 Specific Job Functions:
Greet and converse with guests to suggest or receive cocktail orders promptly Efficiently prepare and serve cocktails to customers/ cocktail servers in the pool area, following the sequence of service standards set forth by management Maintain the cleanliness and appearance of the bar Maintain complete knowledge of all menu items, liquor brands, beers, and non-alcoholic selections available in the assigned outlet Obtain assigned bank and ensure accuracy of contracted monies, keeping the bank secure at all times Other Specific Job Functions:
Oversee the overall operation of the outlet bar Provide exceptional service to customers Ensure the correct glassware/stemware is used according to department standards Check IDs if the guest appears to be under 30 Follow Alcohol Awareness techniques as needed Adhere to all responsible alcohol serving requirements as dictated by the state Handle monetary transactions at the point of sales system (cash, credit cards, and room charges) in accordance with department policies and procedures Communicate with fellow employees and Managers regarding Guest requests Consistently deliver exceptional service to every Guest while interacting professionally. Possess a positive attitude towards the guests and fellow employees to meet and exceed The Plaza's standards Know all aspects of our business and match it to the guests' needs to exceed their expectations Make positive eye contact with the Guest Maintain alert posture, appearing approachable to Guests Maintain utmost respect and courtesy for Guests at all times Maintain sanitation, cleanliness, and ensure the health and safety of our Guests and fellow employees at all times Maintain a clean and hygienic work station in accordance with Clark County Health Standards Maintains quality service standards with all guests by creating a friendly, relaxed atmosphere while coordinating service requests Prepare order to replenish stock at bar to pre-determined par levels The workstation must be maintained, left stocked, and cleaned for the next shift Possess the ability to work in a team environment Maintain flexibility to perform other job-related tasks as deemed necessary by management Be able to perform a task that requires standing and/or moving at a fast pace for periods of up to eight hours or longer Communicate with Management to keep them informed of all special requests from a guest, as well as any potential problems or concerns Assist new employees with training and answering questions Be ethical and professional at all times Work special events as needed for the successful operation of the department Must have an excellent upbeat attitude and personality, with the ability to interact with people of diverse backgrounds Observe and direct actions of Bar Backs and to inspect and maintain areas for which responsible. Consistently use suggestive selling techniques Perform all duties as deemed necessary for the success of the department RESPONSIBLE ALCOHOL MANAGEMENT
Recognize and acknowledge when Guests are becoming intoxicated and/or are intoxicated Monitor potentially intoxicated and/or disruptive Guests and promptly bring them to a Manager's attention Refuse further service of alcohol to intoxicated Guests in a courteous and safety-minded manner Responsible for accurately checking the guest identification Comply with all safety and health department procedures as well as Company and/or departmental policies/procedures Comply with all state and federal liquor laws This job description in no way states or implies that these are the only duties to be performed by the employee in this position. At least 1 year of experience as a Bartender in a resort setting At least 1 year of experience in customer service Ability to deal effectively with guests, management, employees, and outside contacts while working under pressure and meeting deadlines Ability to work in a fast-paced, busy, and somewhat stressful environment and maintain physical stamina and proper mental attitude Ability to handle cash and accurately make change Ability to speak and to listen in a public forum Manage multiple tasks and remain calm in a very high-paced and stressful environment, and work under pressure Have interpersonal skills to deal effectively with all business contacts Professional appearance and demeanor Work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays Basic math skills Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent Must have a Union Pour Card Must have basic knowledge of wines and spirits Must be willing to work outdoors in seasonal heat (100F+) or cold, as well as inclement weather Performs all other job-related duties as requested Preferred:
Previous experience working in a similar Hotel Casino setting Minimum two (2) years' Bartender experience CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Varies PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Must have the physical ability to access all areas of the facility; move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects; withstand prolonged standing, stretching, bending, kneeling, lifting, and carrying items weighing at least 50 lbs. without restriction. Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping. Physical stamina and proper mental attitude to work under pressure; work indoors and outdoors, as well as being exposed to hot/cold surfaces, steam, and wet floors. Most work tasks are performed indoors; however, there are events where outdoor activities are required. Indoor temperatures are moderate and controlled by internal environmental systems.
