Bartender

Bartender Rye Republic is looking for an experienced Bartender to join our opening team. We are looking for someone who is driven to help create an amazing bar program.

Principle Responsibilities:

Interacting directly with customers, explaining menus, making recommendations, and preparing drinks Oversee responsible service of alcohol including verifying age and monitoring guest behavior Set up and break down bar daily including making house syrups, infusions and tinctures Ensure the bar area remains stocked and clean throughout service Contribute to the overall bar program by creating cocktails and drink specials Handle cash transactions and operate a cash register Maintain a positive working relationship with all associates, contributing as a team leader throughout the restaurant

Qualifications and Background:

Thorough knowledge of spirits, beer, wine and understanding of classic cocktail ingredients and techniques Ability to work quickly and cleanly in a high stress environment Friendly, warm, hard working and coachable Ability to stand for long periods of time, lift and carry up to 50 pounds, and reach, bend, stoop and climb up and down stairs. Ability to communicate in English ATAP Certified 1+ year(s) bartending experience About Rye Republic Modeled after a classic American bar, Rye Republic is a warm and inviting space with welcoming service and the everyday luxuries of classic cocktails, ice cold beer and perfectly cooked burgers. Rye Republic is the first concept from husband-and-wife team, Casey and Kaitlin Troutman, who met in culinary school and have since worked in the back and front of house of restaurants such as Gramercy Tavern, Union Square Café, Lilia and Blue Hill at Stone Barns.
