Job Description
Position Overview We are seeking a reliable, hardworking Part-Time Barn Assistant to support daily barn operations and ensure the health, safety, and well-being of our 32 head of horses. This role is ideal for someone with prior horse experience who enjoys working in a hands-on, team-oriented environment. Key Responsibilities Bringing in the Herd from the Pastures Feeding and watering horses Mucking stalls and maintaining clean, safe barn conditions Loading and emptying the manure spreader Distributing hay in stalls and pastures Assisting with occasional weekend turnout or evening care as needed Required Skills & Experience Minimum of 2+ years of horse experience Basic horsemanship and confident horse handling skills Ability to identify signs of lameness, illness, or injury (basic equine first aid knowledge) Ability to work independently and as part of a team Strong work ethic and reliability Preferred (but Not Required) Training can be provided for the right candidate. Experience operating farm equipment (tractor, manure spreader, front-end loader) Ability to back a trailer Basic carpentry skills (e.g., minor or emergency fence repairs) Physical Requirements Ability to lift and carry 50-60 lbs (grain bags, hay bales, water buckets, shavings) Ability to bend, reach, twist, stoop, and perform repetitive physical tasks Ability to push and maneuver loaded wheelbarrows Ability to work in varying conditions, including: Extreme heat and cold Wet, humid, or freezing environments Uneven or slippery terrain Indoor and outdoor settings What We're Looking For Dependable and punctual individuals A positive attitude and willingness to learn Someone who takes pride in maintaining a clean and safe environment A genuine care for horses and their well-being
Pay:
