Hourly plus tips Tigard Taphouse is a family and dog friendly Taphouse off of Main Street Tigard with an outdoor bar and a large outdoor seating area. We have a strong local following, 26 taps of beer wine and cider and a new food menu we are currently expanding. We are looking for a rock star candidate who is able to work front of house and help the back of house as needed. All employees are trained on both FOH and BOH duties for efficiency. Fulfilling the position at. the Tigard Taphouse requires knowledge in food, beverage and wine as well as experience with the skills necessary to execute their service. Prioritization of tasks, with a strict focus on meeting and exceeding the needs of the guest, is a must. Candidates must have the ability to accurately receive and enter food and beverage orders through the given POS system and must possess knowledge of appropriate and timely steps of service. Efficiency in cash handling and payment processing are requirements. A server with the Tigard Taphouse is responsible for helping with both front and back of house duties. This includes food prep and light cooking if needed. These duties are to be fulfilled while following Tigard Taphouse s steps of service and striving toward guest satisfaction, retention and loyalty through prompt and courteous service. Prior table side experience is required.
Position Summary:
Provide friendly, responsive service to create an exceptional experience for all guests. Work as part of a strong team to multi task in a fast paced fun environment. Keep customer experience at a high level.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Welcome and greet guests in a timely fashion. Inform guests of beer and food options. Serve beer, wine and cider, and soft drinks. Have or develop a knowledge of craft beers styles, wine, and food available. Take food and beverage orders from guests, enter orders into Clover point-of-sale system. Deliver food and beverages from kitchen and bar to guests in a timely manner. Perform side work at the start and end of each shift as required using provided checklists. Maintain clean service areas, pre-bus, clear and reset tables as needed. Monitor and observe guests experience. Ensure guests are satisfied with their food, beverages and service. Respond promptly and courteously to any requests. Ring up client tabs, hold tabs open and close out tabs. Adjust discrepancies as needed. Accurately control cash and other receipts by adhering to cash handling and reconciliation procedures in accordance with Taphouse policies and procedures. Possess adequate responsible alcohol service knowledge. Attend and pass testing for mandatory local Alcohol Service Permit certification within 30 days of employment and maintain the certification. Be ready and willing to assist fellow servers as situations arise with food running, side-work, and overall teamwork. Full hands in, full hands out. Prep and cook food of limited menu as needed. Thank guests for their visit and invite them to return. Maintain a clean uniform and appearance. Tigard Taphouse shirts will be provided by the company.
Qualifications:
Strong work ethic. Able to perform duties with little to no supervision. Prior service industry experience a plus Able to multi task in fast paced setting Able to communicate with and understand our guests. Must have a basic knowledge of service procedures and functions. Able to operate a point-of-sale system. Able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 8 hours). Able to safely lift and easily maneuver trays of food frequently weighing up to 20-25 pounds.
