Barback

Job Description:

As a Barback in our fine dining establishment, you play a crucial role in supporting the bartenders and ensuring the smooth operation of our bar area. Your primary responsibility is to assist with various tasks to help maintain an efficient and organized workflow, ultimately contributing to an exceptional guest experience. You will work closely with the bartending team to uphold high standards of service and hospitality.

Responsibilities:

Assist bartenders in preparing and serving beverages, including cocktails, wines, and non-alcoholic drinks. Assist bartenders with prepping syrups, garnishes and batched cocktails. Keep the bar area clean and organized by clearing empty glasses, bottles, and other debris. Restock bar supplies, including liquor, mixers, garnishes, ice, and glassware, as needed throughout service. Wash glassware and utensils promptly to ensure a steady supply for bartenders. Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the bar area, including wiping down surfaces, cleaning spills, and disposing of trash. Assist with setting up and breaking down the bar before and after service periods. Receive wine & liquor orders and put items away in an organized fashion. Keep storage spaces organized. Communicate with bar and management team on inventory needs. Provide exceptional customer service by assisting guests with inquiries, refilling water glasses, and addressing their needs promptly. Adhere to all health and safety standards and regulations, including proper handling of glassware and cleaning chemicals. Collaborate with the bartending team to ensure efficient and smooth service during busy periods.

Requirements:

2-3 years experience working as a barback is preferred. Prior full-service restaurant experience required. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and multitask effectively. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Physical stamina and the ability to lift and carry heavy objects, including cases of liquor and ice. Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining cleanliness and organization in the bar area. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required. Willingness to learn and take direction from senior staff members.
