Job Description

Farmington Country Club presents an exciting opportunity for the right individual to join our dynamic seasonal Food and Beverage Operations team in a hybrid role serving as both a 10th Tee Snack & Beverage Bar Attendant and Poolside Grill Bartender. This position is essential to delivering exceptional service across two of the Club's most popular seasonal venues, providing members and their guests with fast, friendly, and attentive hospitality throughout the golf and pool seasons. The ideal candidate thrives in a high-volume, fast-paced environment, is highly organized, enjoys engaging with members, and takes pride in creating memorable experiences through outstanding food and beverage service. Whether serving golfers on the course or members relaxing poolside, this role requires a commitment to hospitality, efficiency, professionalism, and exceptional service standards. The 10th Tee Snack & Beverage Bar serves as a convenient grab-and-go refreshment stop located between holes 9 and 10 on Farmington's beautiful golf course, offering golfers a chance to refresh and refuel before continuing their round. The Poolside Grill is Farmington's vibrant, family-friendly seasonal dining venue, operating daily from Memorial Day through Labor Day and serving as a social hub for members enjoying lunch, dinner, beverages, ice cream, milkshakes, and specialty drinks. In this hybrid role, responsibilities include preparing and serving food and beverages, crafting consistent, high-quality cocktails, maintaining clean, organized, and well-stocked service areas, processing transactions, and providing warm, personalized service in both settings. Success in this position requires flexibility, attention to detail, strong communication skills, and the ability to remain composed and efficient during busy service periods while contributing to the exceptional member experiences that define Farmington Country Club.
Responsibilities:
Be familiar with all menu items, preparation methods, ingredients, and potential allergens to ensure member safety and exceptional service. Greet members by name and verify member name and account number for every order and transaction. Serve food and beverages quickly, efficiently, and professionally while maintaining exceptional hospitality standards. Prepare and serve all beverage orders, including beer, wine, cocktails, specialty drinks, and non-alcoholic beverages for members, guests, and service staff. Maintain current knowledge of cocktail, beer, wine, and liquor offerings, and contribute creative ideas for beverage promotions and specialty cocktails. Set up, maintain, and break down workstations according to Club standards and complete all opening, closing, and cleaning checklists. Maintain cleanliness and organization of all assigned areas, including service stations, bar areas, beverage storage areas, kitchen spaces, bathrooms, outside dining areas, the Lower Caddy, and the Performance Center. Ensure all food handling, sanitation, and safety practices comply with Club standards, health department regulations, and applicable state and local laws. Adhere to all Virginia ABC laws and responsible alcohol service practices. Request identification from any guest ordering alcohol who appears to be under the age of 30. Complete and maintain required alcohol service certifications, including TIPS training, and successfully complete all required beverage knowledge assessments. Process member charges accurately through the point-of-sale system and handle cash transactions, including managing a cash box during designated events and tournaments. Maintain appropriate inventory levels for food and beverage products, anticipate business demands, rotate stock, and ensure proper storage and security of all products, including alcoholic beverages. Complete requisitions for food and beverage products as needed and communicate inventory and supply requirements to management. Secure and properly store all alcoholic beverages at the end of each shift. Maintain professionalism, confidence, and accountability while working independently for extended periods. Make rounds in designated service areas during slower periods to engage members and proactively provide service. Assist team members with cleaning and operational duties as needed to support overall departmental success. Communicate member comments, concerns, suggestions, and service opportunities to management. Complete all assigned duties thoroughly, accurately, and in a timely manner. Must be eighteen (21) years of age or older; Must be able to lift and carry up to fifty (50) pounds; Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, and other Microsoft Office applications; Ability to stand for extended periods of time up to seven (7) consecutive hours; Previous bartending experience preferred but not required. If candidate has no previous bartending experience, previous serving experience is required; Must be available minimum of 4 days a week; High level of professionalism is required; Must be able to work all 3 holidays (Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day) during peak pool season;
