Job Description

Job Summary Newport Polo is hiring Barbacks to support the bartender team during our Saturday match days throughout the summer season. The Barback primarily operates the tap station for draft beer and frozen cocktails, keeps the main and satellite bars stocked, and steps in to assist with customer service during peak demand. This is a high-volume, outdoor role perfect for dependable team players who thrive in a live event atmosphere. Qualifications Must be at least 18 years old At least 1 year of bar or restaurant work experience preferred Basic knowledge of mixology and the ability to prepare classic cocktails is a plus Current TIPS certification required Valid driver's license and comfort operating a golf cart on event grounds Able to accurately count and inventory product Comfortable running a point-of-sale system to process cash and card transactions Able to accurately prepare bills, handle cash, and make change Friendly, outgoing, and professional with customers and teammates Able to stand and be on your feet for the entire shift Able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs, including cases of beer and wine, bags of ice, and full kegs Able to bend, stoop, and reach repeatedly to stock and restock product Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather, including heat, humidity, and occasional rain Able to work in a high-volume, fast-paced environment Responsibilities Assist with opening procedures, including cleaning work stations, cutting fruit and vegetables for garnishes, stocking coolers, filling ice bins, replenishing cup, straw, and napkin dispensers, and batching pre-mixed cocktails Operate the tap station, including pouring draft beer and mixing frozen cocktails Drive a golf cart to deliver product and ice to satellite bars throughout the day Restock product and ice at the main bar and satellite bars throughout the shift Count and inventory product as needed to keep all bar locations well-stocked Assist bartenders with preparing customer orders and processing payments via cash or card using the point-of-sale system Complete end-of-day procedures, including restocking, cleaning stations, and entering tips Schedule Description Every Saturday from June through September. Shifts run 11:00 PM to 9:00 PM in June, July, and August, and 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM in September. This is a seasonal, part-time, weekends-only position.

$200.00 - $300.00 per day
