Job Description
Job Overview Newport Polo is hiring Bartenders to serve guests during our Saturday match days throughout the summer season. This is a high-volume, outdoor, fast-paced role perfect for friendly, service-oriented bartenders who thrive in a live event atmosphere. Qualifications Minimum of 1 year of bartending experience required; recent completion of a bartender training program may be considered in lieu of work experience Must be at least 18 years old Current TIPS certification required Solid knowledge of classic cocktails and the ability to prepare them efficiently Comfortable running a point-of-sale system to process cash and card transactions Able to accurately prepare bills, handle cash, and make change Friendly, outgoing, and professional with customers and teammates Able to stand and be on your feet for the entire shift Able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs, including cases of beer and wine, bags of ice, and full kegs Able to bend, stoop, and reach repeatedly to stock and restock product Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather, including heat, humidity, and occasional rain Able to work in a high-volume, fast-paced environment Responsibilities Take, prepare, and serve drink orders for walk-up customers and beverage servers Check customer IDs to verify legal drinking age Monitor customers for signs of intoxication and take appropriate action Set up the bar at the start of each shift, including stocking, cleaning stations, preparing garnishes, and putting out signage Prepare customer bills and process payments via cash or card using the point-of-sale system Complete end-of-day procedures, including restocking, cleaning stations, and entering tips Schedule Description Every Saturday from June through September. Multiple shifts and positions are available. Shifts start at 12pm, 1pm, or 2pm and run until 8pm. This is a seasonal, part-time, weekends-only position. Compensation Shift pay plus tips. Total estimated compensation is $200 to $500, depending on position.
