Are you a server or bartender who is looking for a steady schedule? Does $20 an hour plus a portion of the tip pool sound better than just counting on tips every night? CHOP might be the place for you! Culinary Hub Of Providence (CHOP) is expanding the restaurant staff and seeking a full-time Front Of House Mentor. CHOP is both a working restaurant and a program of the nonprofit organization Genesis Center, whose mission is "to provide the highest quality education, job training, and support services to people of diverse cultures." The FOH Mentor will guide students and interns who are part of the Genesis Center culinary program while providing customer service at the restaurant. We are seeking an experienced professional with at least 3 years of relevant hospitality experience. Candidates should be able to perform the roles of bartender, server, host, and food runner interchangeably. Experience in bartending is a requirement , and experience in providing education or training to adults is also preferred. The ideal candidate should possess a thorough knowledge of full-service restaurants, including service standards and operations. Candidates should also have experience working with diverse populations, as well as sensitivity and commitment to the Genesis Center mission, which includes an understanding and appreciation of special problems and stressors of refugee and immigrant families. This position is paid an hourly rate ($18-20/hr) plus a portion of the tip pool.
