Food & Beverage Manager SUMMARY:
The Citrus Club Barback is a key support role for the Citrus Club bar team and is responsible for ensuring the bar is stocked, clean, organized, and prepared for service. This teammate supports bartenders, servers, and leadership by maintaining product levels, assisting with setup and breakdown, and helping create a seamless rooftop guest experience. The ideal candidate is dependable, proactive, organized, and able to work quickly in a fast-paced, high-volume upscale bar environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Major areas of responsibility include, but are not limited to: Lead by example by consistently showcasing professional, friendly, memorable, and engaging service. Support bartenders and service staff throughout each shift to ensure efficient and elevated service. Set up the Citrus Club bar prior to service, including stocking glassware, ice, garnishes, juices, mixers, beer, wine, liquor, napkins, straws, and other necessary supplies. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar, service stations, storage areas, rooftop areas, and surrounding guest-facing spaces. Restock all bar products throughout service to ensure bartenders have what they need without interruption. Break down the bar at the end of service according to standards, including cleaning surfaces, organizing product, removing trash, and properly storing items. Assist with receiving, rotating, and organizing beverage inventory. Maintain a thorough understanding of bar setup, product locations, glassware, garnishes, menu items, and Citrus Club service standards. Communicate product needs, low stock items, equipment concerns, or service issues to bartenders and leadership in a timely manner. Support the team by clearing glassware, polishing glassware, resetting bar areas, and assisting with guest-facing needs when appropriate. Assist with maintaining the overall presentation of Citrus Club, including service stations, bar areas, and back-of-house support spaces. Follow all local and state laws and The Dewberry's policies and procedures for the handling and service of alcoholic beverages. Maintain a sense of urgency, attention to detail, and awareness of the needs of the bar team throughout service. Attend daily pre-shift meetings. Assist with additional opening, running, and closing side work as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma/GED preferred. Previous barback, restaurant, hotel, rooftop bar, or food and beverage experience preferred. Knowledge of safe food handling procedures and safe handling of alcoholic beverages preferred. Strong work ethic with the ability to stay organized and focused in a fast-paced environment. Ability to take direction, anticipate needs, and support the team with a positive attitude. Excellent verbal communication skills. Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently with minimal supervision. Flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, holidays, and seasonal business needs.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT
Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds, including crates, glassware racks, wine, beer cases, liquor cases, and other bar supplies as needed. Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time, including shifts of 8 to 11 hours. Ability to bend, squat, crouch, push, pull, reach, and work in areas of limited space to perform stocking, cleaning, and organization duties. Ability to work in hot, humid, crowded, and noisy environments, including outdoor rooftop conditions. Ability to safely move through service areas while carrying product, glassware, ice, and other bar supplies.
