We are looking for an enthusiastic
SEASONED
bartender/server to provide an excellent guest experience. Experience with both is required. 5 years of experience is required; preference for fine-dining and high-volume experience. Enjoy working on the Isle of Palms! Beautiful sunsets and dolphin views—high-volume seafood restaurant. Compensation includes hourly and tips.
Responsibilities / Skills
Sell alcohol or non-alcoholic beverages to restaurant patrons Interact with customers, take orders, and serve appetizers and drinks Assess customers' needs and preferences and make recommendations Knowledge of ingredients /prep of specialty and classic cocktails Check customers' identification and confirm it meets the legal drinking age Strong food knowledge and food safety standards Stay guest-focused and nurture an excellent guest experience Passion for food and fun! Resume and proven working experience as a server Excellent knowledge of wine, beer, and alcohol (Must be comfortable with wine and wine service) Computer literacy Positive attitude and excellent communication skills Ability to keep the work area organized, stocked, and clean POS - Toast Relevant training certificate (ServSafe South Carolina Alcohol Certification/ServSafe Food Handlers Certification) Duties Prepare and serve a variety of beverages, including cocktails, beer, wine, and non-alcoholic options, with precision and flair. Take food and drink orders accurately using POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS, ensuring quick and efficient service. Provide exceptional customer service by engaging with guests, answering questions about menu items, and making personalized recommendations. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar area and dining space in accordance with food safety standards. Manage cash handling responsibilities, including cashiering duties, processing payments accurately, and balancing registers at shift end. Assist in food service operations during busy hours, including serving food at tables or in banquet settings, ensuring timely delivery. Uphold all food safety regulations and proper food handling procedures to ensure guest safety and satisfaction. Requirements Prior experience in food service or restaurant environments, especially in fine dining or nightclub settings. Familiarity with POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS; experience with retail math or hospitality software is a plus. Strong time management skills to handle multiple tables or bar orders efficiently during peak hours. Excellent customer service skills with a friendly, energetic demeanor that enhances guest experiences. Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling techniques. Ability to perform basic math accurately for cash handling, billing, and sales transactions. Previous banquet or catering experience is advantageous; experience working in the food industry is highly valued. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed in a fast-paced nightlife or restaurant environment.
