is hiring a BARTENDERLa Condesa is inspired by the culture, energy, and cuisine of Mexico City's namesake bohemian neighborhood, located in the heart of downtown Austin's 2nd Street District. This energy translates to a positive, teamwork-driven spirit and passion for serving our guests as well as our community. Our seasonally changing menu further reflects our commitment to sustainability through responsible sourcing of only the best ingredients from our local farmer community. We also legit have the best margaritas in all of Austin. Ask anyone.
JOB OVERVIEWA
Bartender is responsible for mixing and serving drinks, serving bar guests, and preparing items necessary for service while adhering to state liquor laws and regulations. Bar service at New Waterloo is about combining great hospitality with technical skills and warm personalities to create an upbeat, inviting environment. The person having this role must possess good communication skills and can resolve conflict with a thorough understanding of company policies.

What you'll do:

Prepare and serve beverages promptly and consistently, adhering to the outlet s recipes and proceduresMaintain bottles, glasses, bar tools, and garnishes in an attractive and functional manner to support efficient drink preparation and promotion of beveragesMaintain product knowledge to inform guests of daily specials, answer questions about menu items, and make recommendations upon requestTake food and beverage orders, enter them into the POS system, and send them to the kitchen; See to each guest s special needs, including any allergies or dietary restrictionsCheck guest s identification to verify minimum age requirements for consumption of alcoholic beveragesAssist in the restocking and replenishing of bar inventory, prep, and suppliesWash and sterilize glassware, utensils, and bar equipmentMaintain revenue by preparing checks that itemize total costs + sales taxes and collect accurate payments from guestsMaintain a high level of cleanliness in all areas of the bar including counters, bar top, sinks, utensils, shelves, and storage areasEnsure immediate response is given to guest comments and concerns; inform immediate supervisor and apply corrective measures when necessaryEnsure that all equipment is maintained in good, safe working conditionAttempt to limit issues and liability related to excessive drinking by responsibly serving alcohol, having an awareness of signs of intoxication, and taking appropriate measures to ensure the safety of our guestsAssist bar management with creating beverage menus, ordering and receiving supplies, and maintaining bar inventoryWho you are: You thrive on creating real connections,you know that providing great service is all about the way it makes people feel.
