This role is responsible for preparing and serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, providing excellent guest service, and helping create a welcoming and enjoyable bar and restaurant experience. The Bartender plays an important role in the overall guest experience by combining hospitality, beverage knowledge, and efficient service in a hotel food and beverage environment. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with people, stays organized in a fast-paced setting, and takes pride in delivering professional, responsible service. Responsibilities Greet guests warmly and provide friendly, attentive service at the bar and in the restaurant as needed Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages according to recipe and presentation standards Take beverage and food orders accurately and enter them into the point-of-sale system Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked bar area throughout the shift Monitor guest needs and respond promptly to requests in a professional manner Check identification and follow all responsible alcohol service requirements Process guest payments accurately and follow all cash handling and check settlement procedures Assist with opening side work, closing side work, bar setup, and restocking Communicate effectively with servers, cooks, and managers to support smooth service Uphold hotel and brand standards for hospitality, appearance, cleanliness, and professionalism Qualifications Required Previous bartending, restaurant, bar, hospitality, or customer service experience preferred Strong communication skills and a friendly, guest-focused attitude Ability to prepare mixed drinks, beer, wine, and other beverages accurately and efficiently Ability to work flexible shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed Dependable attendance and strong teamwork skills Ability to stand for extended periods and lift or carry bar supplies, glassware, and beverage items Preferred Previous bartender experience in a hotel, restaurant, or bar setting Familiarity with POS systems and cash handling procedures Knowledge of beverage service standards and responsible alcohol service TABC or equivalent alcohol service certification, if applicable Bilingual English/Spanish skills are a plus in the McAllen market Schedule Flexible schedule based on business needs Evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed Job Type Full-time Part-time Pay Starting at $8.00 per hour plus tips based on experience Benefits Full-time eligible associates may be offered: Health, dental, and vision insurance 401(k) with company contribution Paid time off Holiday pay Marriott travel discounts and perks Growth and advancement opportunities with an established hotel management company Join Our Team This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys guest interaction, takes pride in beverage service, and wants to be part of a hotel team focused on hospitality and execution.
