Part-time, Full-time Truck Yard Job Description:

Yardtender (a.k.a. Bartender) The folks behind your favorite backyard hangouts (Truck Yard, Second Rodeo Brewing, Beard Science Sour House), otherwise known as Brain Storm Shelter, are in search of Yardtenders (what we call Bartenders) who know how to make people happy. Truck Yard is a bar garden with lots of heavily shaded outdoor space, food trucks, a kitchen slinging the best cheesesteaks in town, signature drinks, and multiple bars where you'd least expect it (think tree house, ferris wheel, etc.). Our Yardtenders can make $30-40/hour

• high volume means high tips!

DESCRIPTION

That's why we're open to hiring servers and others with great personalities who love making people happy and are up for the challenge of fast-paced service. Our bar program involves beer, wine on tap, house-made pre-batched cocktails on draft and even bottled shots, so your time is spent building regulars instead of building cocktails.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Be the welcoming face of Truck Yard to everyone who enters your bar area

• acknowledgement and friendly greets are a must. Be an expert on our menus. Help new customers learn about our unique options and get regulars to try something new. Take pride in your bar
• keep it stocked and clean. Know how to pour. You must practice & maintain accurate free pour skills. Some shifts you won't be behind the bar but running drinks and food to tables for tickets coming from our online table-ordering system. Getting out in the yard is another chance for you to make a memorable moment for our guests. Demonstrate ethical behavior
• pour correctly, charge correctly, no drinking/drugs on property. Think fast, move fast
• show your drive to get customers served as quickly and correctly as possible. Be a great teammate
• love on your teammates as much as you love on our customers.

Monitor and identify guest behavior for signs of intoxication or impairment throughout the restaurant grounds, reporting anything concerning to management.

QUALIFICATIONS

1+ years in a high volume service role

• bartending, serving or other face paced hospitality role You must be 21 years or older Good knowledge about quality cocktails and craft/local beers.

Strong ability to multi task Great customer service skills Positive attitude and excellent communication/listening skills with customers and team Ability to keep the bar organized, stocked and clean TABC Certification Must have reliable transportation Must be eligible to work in the United States

OTHER THINGS TO KNOW

Truck Yard does not permit any employee to consume alcohol at any Brain Storm Shelter Restaurant location, whether on

• or off-duty.

All employees are required to follow all local and state laws regarding the sale & service of alcohol. Employees are expected to wash their hands frequently during shifts and after all breaks. Position requires prolonged standing, bending, stooping, twisting, lifting products and supplies weighing 45 pounds, and repetitive hand and wrist motion. Position requires working a full shift on your feet. Position requires working out doors in all weather conditions All employees must practice good personal hygiene to prevent food borne illnesses & create a clean working environment Position may require work with hot, cold, and hazardous equipment as well as operation of phones, computers and other office equipment. Yardtenders are part of a tip pool that includes tip-out to other positions on the team. Eligible for medical and dental/vision benefits if you average 30+ hours/week after your first year.
