Job Description

Finn & Fire is seeking skilled Bartenders to join our opening beverage team. This role is for someone with strong cocktail fundamentals, clean execution, sharp service instincts, and the ability to bring precision, elegance, and controlled energy behind the bar. Our beverage program is being built to match a Peruvian Nikkei restaurant with pristine seafood, sushi technique, live-fire cooking, premium meats, bold Peruvian flavors, and the polished energy of a modern steakhouse. Bartenders at Finn & Fire will be expected to execute with consistency, move with intention, maintain a disciplined bar, and create a memorable guest experience from the first drink to the last. The bar will take inspiration from the precision, restraint, cleanliness, and quiet elegance associated with Japanese bartending, while still delivering the pace, warmth, and confidence required in a high-volume modern restaurant. Key Responsibilities Prepare cocktails, spirits, wine, sake, beer, nonalcoholic beverages, coffee, tea, and other bar offerings according to Finn & Fire standards. Execute classic cocktails, signature cocktails, and modernized interpretations with precision, speed, balance, and consistency. Maintain strong knowledge of cocktail structure, spirits, modifiers, citrus, syrups, bitters, garnishes, glassware, ice, dilution, texture, and presentation. Bring elegance and intention to the bar through clean movement, organized mise en place, careful technique, and polished guest interaction. Develop strong working knowledge of Peruvian Nikkei ingredients and flavor profiles, including citrus, ají, tropical fruit, herbs, spice, umami, savory elements, and seafood-friendly pairings. Provide polished bar service that is warm, attentive, professional, and guest-focused. Guide guests confidently through cocktails, wine, sake, spirits, beer, and nonalcoholic options. Build rounds efficiently while maintaining presentation, accuracy, cleanliness, and hospitality standards. Maintain a clean, organized, stocked, and service-ready bar at all times. Complete opening and closing duties, batching, juicing, garnish prep, restocking, polishing, inventory support, labeling, dating, and station setup. Monitor freshness, pars, prep levels, waste, and product quality. Work closely with servers, barbacks, managers, and culinary leadership during prep, service, tastings, and menu development. Execute calmly and efficiently during high-volume service without sacrificing precision or presence. Follow responsible alcohol service standards and uphold sanitation, safety, and cleanliness procedures. Contribute to a disciplined, respectful, focused, and professional opening-team culture. Qualifications Previous bartending experience in a serious restaurant, cocktail bar, hotel bar, steakhouse, fine dining, or high-standard hospitality environment preferred. Strong cocktail fundamentals and understanding of balance, technique, speed, dilution, consistency, and presentation. Ability to bring presence behind the bar without ego, perform under pressure, and maintain composure during high-volume service. Working knowledge of spirits, wine, sake, beer, classic cocktails, and nonalcoholic beverages preferred. Interest in Japanese bartending discipline, Peruvian Nikkei flavor, seafood-friendly cocktails, wine, sake, and modern beverage culture preferred. Ability to work cleanly, quickly, and consistently under pressure. Strong attention to detail, organization, repetition, refinement, and station discipline. Professional attitude, punctuality, humility, and team-first mentality. Comfortable receiving coaching, learning recipes, following systems, and maintaining standards. Curious intelligence, coachability, and genuine interest in the craft are required. Compensation Competitive hourly rate plus tips, based on experience. Schedule Full-time and part-time positions available. Evening, weekend, and holiday availability required. About Finn & Fire Finn & Fire is a new Peruvian Nikkei restaurant in Alexandria with a strong seafood focus, live-fire influence, premium meats, and a polished steakhouse sensibility.
