Bartender / Server

Overview We are seeking a few dedicated and enthusiastic server/bartenders to join our team at Burl's Downtown Kitchenette, a new Southern-inspired all day diner in Burlington! The ideal candidate will have a passion for local food and beverages, and providing exceptional customer service in a fast-paced environment. As a server/bartender, you will play a crucial role in ensuring our guests have an enjoyable dining experience by delivering high-quality service, maintaining the standards of our restaurant, and crafting beverages. We are a 7-booth refurbished diner with 11 bar seats. We will be opening the second week of June for lunch & dinner, and adding breakfast daily a few weeks after that. Looking to fill day and night shifts.

Pay:

This is a tipped position, base rate is $14.50 an hour plus tips. Total Average Earnings estimated depending on hours & schedule worked. Duties Greet and seat guests in a friendly and welcoming manner. Take food and beverage orders accurately using the POS system. Provide detailed information about menu items, including monthly specials and promotions. Ensure timely delivery of food and drinks to tables while maintaining proper presentation standards. Assist guests with any inquiries or special requests, ensuring their needs are met promptly. Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the dining area, including tables, chairs, and service stations. Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure efficient service and communication regarding orders. Adhere to food safety guidelines and restaurant policies at all times. Manage time effectively to ensure all tasks are completed efficiently during busy periods. Complete side work before and after shifts as needed. Create beverages in a timely manner Execute monthly special margaritas and use frozen margarita machine Keep the bar clean, prepped, and stocked Skills Proven experience in food service, restaurant work, or retail math to handle cash transactions accurately. Strong knowledge of POS systems (we use Toast). Excellent customer service skills with the ability to engage guests warmly and professionally. Experience in fine dining environments or nightclubs is highly desirable for creating upscale experiences. Ability to manage time effectively during high-volume periods while maintaining attention to detail. Familiarity with food safety standards, food handling procedures, and basic math for accurate billing and inventory management. Knowledge of beverage brewing techniques or bartending skills that elevate guest experiences.

Pay:

$28.00 - $35.00 per hour
