Job Description

The Bartender at Neil's Winehouse is a key part of the guest experience, responsible for delivering thoughtful, knowledgeable, and welcoming service in a wine-focused restaurant environment. This role goes beyond making drinks — it's about guiding guests through the beverage program, creating genuine connections, and contributing to the warm, neighborhood feel Neil's Winehouse is known for. Bartenders are expected to be confident, efficient, and detail-oriented while maintaining a high standard of service during both relaxed and high-volume periods Key Duties & Responsibilities Guest Experience Provide friendly, attentive, and professional service to all guests at the bar and dining room Engage guests with confidence and warmth, creating a welcoming atmosphere Offer knowledgeable recommendations on wine, cocktails, beer, and NA options Build rapport with regular guests and encourage repeat visits Beverage Service Prepare and serve wine, cocktails, beer, and non-alcoholic beverages according to house standards Demonstrate proper wine service, including opening, pouring, and storage Maintain accuracy and consistency in drink preparation Ensure all beverages are served responsibly and in compliance with alcohol laws Bar Operations Maintain cleanliness, organization, and proper setup of the bar Restock bar supplies, wine, and glassware as needed Accurately ring in orders and handle payments Assist with opening and closing side work Teamwork & Communication Communicate effectively with servers, kitchen staff, and leadership Support the flow of service during busy shifts Contribute to a respectful, team-oriented work environment Events & Special Service Support wine tastings, special events, and private parties Adjust service style as needed for events while maintaining quality and hospitality Qualifications & Skills Previous bartending experience preferred Wine knowledge or strong interest in learning (certifications a plus, not required) Excellent customer service and communication skills Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment Flexible availability, including nights and weekends Professional appearance and demeanor
