ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Transports guests' luggage from the point of arrival to the assigned guestroom. Escorts incoming hotel guests to their rooms, assists with luggage, and offers information pertaining to available services and facilities of the hotel, points of interest, and entertainment attractions. Assists guests with luggage from their current room to their re-assigned room. Correctly tags, stores and retrieves luggage from the storage area. Delivers to room once room is ready. If luggage is stored for check-out, retrieves luggage and delivers to car once the guest is ready to depart. Assists guests and provides accurate directions and/or information regarding the local area. Offers recommendations when asked to do so. Possesses knowledge of all room functions and can explain/demonstrate each feature. Offers full room orientation based on brand standards. Helps troubleshoot issues with the room technology and escalates to the appropriate department when necessary. Assists with unpacking and/or packing guest luggage as requested. Retrieves amenities from the kitchen and delivers them to the appropriate guestroom. Knows all hours of operation for the Hotel, it's outlets and amenities. Anticipates the guests needs and responds promptly. Acknowledges all guests by name whenever possible. Maintains positive guest relations at all time. Delivers messages, mail and packages to guestrooms promptly, then confirms delivery with Front Desk for log tracking. Retrieves and/or delivers articles for guest laundry and responds to guest requests for specific personal items (shaving kit, toothbrush, etc.) Assists guests and request transportation services when necessary. Assists with procuring welcome beverage and appropriate glassware from the kitchen and delivers to the Front Desk. Retrieves used glassware from Front Desk and drops off in the kitchen for cleaning. Monitors and maintains the appearance of the lobby area and the luggage storage area. Assists Housekeeping as needed with moving furniture, stocking storage closets, bringing down linen or garbage from guestroom floors, etc. All other duties as assigned by the supervisor. OTHER Regular attendance in conformance with the standards, which may be established by the Hotel from time to time, is essential to the successful performance of this position. Employees with irregular attendance will be subject to disciplinary action up to and including termination. Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, employees may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel. Upon employment, all employees are required to fully comply with the hotel rules and regulations for the safe and efficient operation of the facility. EXPERIENCE
Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school or any other combination of education, training or experience that provides the required knowledge skills and abilities. High school diploma is preferred. Previous hospitality experience is preferred.
